Well that’s a pretty strong statement that I’ve made in the title, saying that people do need car decals. My wife recently put a decal on our van to support our son’s sports league.
So, your reason for using a car decal could be many, and here we will discuss some of them.
Socio-Economic Factors Associated With Car Decals
Although I haven’t done a survey of the socio-economic layers of society to find out what portion of the population actually applies car graphics on their vehicles, we can easily assume that at lest 80 to 90 percent of the vehicles we see on the road have decals of some kind or the other.
If you look around carefully, you will find decals of almost all types available, starting from those that state political bias, break the norms, insult politicians or presidents, humorous bumper stickers, cute family decals, business posters, advertising decals and decals that show your support for a particular sports team.
I have seen that the blue-collar guys usually like the huge rear window vehicle graphic prints that cover up the entire rear window.
You will generally find an American Flag or a Rebel Flag.
At times, these decals on the rear window look tacky and tasteless, but there’s no denying that the blue-collar people simply love the big autographic decals.
On the other end of the socio-economic spectrum, there are the expensive vehicle owners such as Lexus, Mercedes, and Ferrari, and such people rarely use any car decals except the stagnant clings of the Ivy League school they or one of their kids attended.
Pride Factors Associated With Car Decals
The car decals are a great way to express yourself and tell to the word how proud you are about your group or whatever they might be. It is our inherent nature to stick to the feeling of belongingness.
We love belonging to a family, club, group, alumni association, church and so on.
With the car decals you can express your love for your family members, friends, and pets or show your support for your favorite sports team.
You will find youngsters showing their support for the local sports teams with their car decals and stickers. Sometimes they might even have the university and college decals on their vehicle.
Whatever the decal is, you will always find a pride element attached to it.
Removing Car Decals
So the reason why people need car decals can be many, but when it comes to removing decals, most people are faced with the same distress. Removing decals that have been baked for years under the sun can be really frustrating, and no amount of washing helps.
You should be careful not to use any sharp object to scratch the surface or paint of the vehicle.
I suggest using the Wonder Wheel, made of soft rubber that not only removes car decals within minutes but is also gentle on the surface. Even large decals can be removed easily as if they were never present there.
